Forte-Well Being is pleased to welcome Dr. Tyler Maxson, a licensed clinical psychologist, to its growing team. Dr. Maxson brings more than a decade of experience helping individuals navigate the emotional, relational, and psychological challenges that accompany change, stress, health concerns, and aging. His broad clinical background further strengthens Forte’s commitment to providingthoughtful, whole-person care.
Throughout his career, Dr. Maxson has worked across a variety of settings, including private practice, neuropsychological assessment, and family and adolescent care. He has also spent nearly a decade working alongside medical teams in skilled nursing and assisted living settings, giving him a unique perspective on the relationship between psychological wellbeing, physical health, aging, and quality of life.
At Forte-Well Being, Dr. Maxson provides psychological care and consultation with a particular interest in the intersection of mental health, physical health, relationships, purpose, and healthy aging. His approach incorporates evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and positive psychology interventions. At the center of his work is a simple principle: understand the person, not just the problem.
In addition to his individual clinical work, Dr. Maxson leads Forte Collective, a group designed to bring people together for meaningful conversation, practical learning, and genuine connection. Rather than simply lecturing about mental health and wellness, Forte Collective creates opportunities for participants to learn from psychological science, from one another, and from their own lived experiences.
Dr. Maxson believes that lasting health extends beyond simply treating symptoms. He emphasizes the importance of strengthening connections, recognizing patterns, adapting to change, and continuing to grow throughout every stage of life. Whether working individually with a client, facilitating a group, or consulting with the Forte team on issues related to aging and emotional wellbeing, his goal is to help individuals build greater understanding, resilience, and purpose.
“My goal is always to understand the person, not just the problem,” says Dr. Maxson. “Health and wellbeing are deeply connected to our relationships, our sense of purpose, how we adapt to change, and the ways we continue to grow throughout our lives.”
